Got my Invisalign!

Reactions:
TODAY WAS GOOD!  Today i finally got my first invisalign mouth piece. Its been an easy process so far but, my journey with invisalign has just begun. I went in to get them and it didn't take long at all. They sat me in a chair and went over care instructions for the mouth piece, and showed me how to put them in right and when i should take them out. They told me what thing to avoid like certain foods when they are in and told me to watch out since I have a dog because dogs love chewing these up! hey told me if this ever happens to call them and they will hook me up with a new one, depending how far I am into this piece.(You switch pieces every 2 weeks) The invisaligns are great you can barely notice them! As always the staff was very nice and caring when I walked in and I look forward to seeing them again!
These are what my teeth will look like at end of process!

Do's and Dont's of Invisalign

Reactions:

Don't leave your Invisalign aligners near your pets!
 Especially dogs.
Since your aligners are always in your mouth, dogs can smell traces of food in your aligners and think its a tasty treat. Ruh-roh

If you are a caffine addict like me, DO switch from Redbull, 5 hour, Monster, Rockstar, etc to the new inhalable caffine product they've just created. Not only will you keep your teeth cavity free but you won't have to carry around a tooth brush each time you are on the go and take your energy drink. It's called Aeroshot and will be available in 2012, yay!

DON'T leave your aligners out of your mouth for long periods of time. I tend to eat very slowly and I drink hot tea three times a day so I have to even out how long I take my aligners out for and make sure there's an appropriate balance that way I am wearing my aligners for about 22 hours a day. The PRO of this is that it does keep you eating healthy. I've stopped snacking in the middle of the night because I would be too tired to clean my aligners. If you are a soda drinker (I'm not- but I do love tea) aligners will help you drink more water! Each time you have a soda or sugary drink you must brush or else you are more prone to cavaties due to the aligners decreasing the oxygen to your teeth. So instead of brushing constantly just have a nice refreshing glass of water... you can drink water with your aligners in and hey its healthy for you! If water sounds too boring add some cucumbers to it! Fancy right?

On the go with Invisalign!

Here's a snapshot I took after my meeting with my modeling agency. They had NO idea I was wearing my aligners! Another PRO for choosing Invisalign!

First Step to new teeth!

Reactions:
WOW. Thats all i can really say. I have struggled with crooked teeth for years and tried to do braces but with my gag reflex...it was NOT gonna happen but then i found Dr.Bhatia's office and my problem was solved. I was scepticle at first because i was somewhat hesitant to do impressions for "invisalign teen" but I emailed the office and they said they dont use impressions they use a very cool futuristic looking tool that scans your teeth and makes a 3D model on a screen. I highly recommend to anyone who wants straight teeth to visit Dr.Bhatias office and begin the journy to a new life...a new life of straight teeth! The staff is super friendly and very intent on working with you to get your teeth fixed.( you also get a free cookie when u come in..if you want:D} Her office has a very home feeling to it and isa nice relaxing place, not like other Ortho places.

Introducing.... The intraoral Scanner!

Reactions:

It is truly amazing how far we have come with gadgets and gizmos in the modern age. I’m constantly seeing fancy new cell phones out each week, new ipads and ipods that seem to get smaller and smarter, nooks and laptops and well you get the point… but have you ever wondered what’s new with technology in the orthodontic field? I know what you’re thinking, headgear, metal braces, boring teeth tools; I tend to think of that as well.
What you don’t know is- right now in the world of teeth technology there is a brand new invention called the Intraoral Scanner. Sounds fancy right? Every day teens and adults get Invisalign for their teeth in order to perfect their smile without having to wear hideous brackets.
Back in the day, doctors used a goopy clay molding to make an impression of your mouth (yuck), well not anymore!
The IntraOral Scanner is a small handheld scanner that uses laser and optic scanning to capture 3-D images of your teeth with not only precision but also accuracy. The images are able to capture surfaces and contours in the teeth and gums. Completely safe and painless, the scanner costs as much as a nice car! Scanning can take up to about 30 minutes, depending on the patient. After the scanning has taken place, the machine is then able to transfer all of the images to Invisalign where they approve them. Followed by a thorough check by your doctor, the aligners are ready in about a few short weeks.

As you can see in the picture above, I was lucky enough to have used the scanner for my invisalign. It was completely painless. Aside from keeping my mouth open the whole time, the experience wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be! My mouth was kept dry for the scanner to take accurate pictures, which may seem uncomfortable but the minute I saw my teeth pop up on the computer screen I forgot all about any discomforts. You become so distracted and intrigued by the different angles of your teeth that before you know it, the whole scanning process is over with!

Watch as my teeth gradually straighten! Thanks to Invisalign I can see my results before the treatment is over. Here is my clincheck which is a 3-dimensional virtual representation of Dr.Bhatia's prescribed treatment plan and reflects the stages of treatment from which Aligners are manufactured. If Dr.Bhatia isn't happy with one of the stages she will notify Invisalign until they come up with results both you and she can feel happy about.
